The vineyards of Clos des Lambrays profit from an exceptional geographical and geological position. Situated at an ideal average altitude of 250 m the CLOS DES LAMBRAYS vineyards have a surface area of 8,70 hectars entirely enclosed.
The characteristic of the vineyard are three geological climates
- MEIX RENTIER, very large loam soil·
- LES LARRETS, sloping part with excellent exposure to the rising sun
- LES BOUCHOTS, well aired in its upper part thanks to its situation at the exit of the valley of Morey, and well protected from north winds in its lower part.
This geological and climatic variety is very interesting: the marny soil which dominates in the upper part of the vineyard favours the finesse of the wines and however in the flatter areas the loamy and chalky soil produces powerful and balanced wines. These two features combine to provide the characteristic harmony and ageing capacity of the Clos des Lambrays.
