The Vine de Clive Coates M.W. (february 2005)
"26 hl/ha. Very good colour. Ample, concentrated, stylish fruit on the nose. Generous and succulent. Balanced and relaxed. Full body. Ripe tannins. Good grip. Plump and very, very ripe. Good backbone and weight. Long. Fine". From 2011
Burghound Allen Meadow (january 2005)
"(produced from two large parcels of differing vine age - one that is approximately two-thirds of the blend and is now 45 years of age and a second, smaller group of vines that is approximately 20 years of age; this was harvested at 13.45% from yields of 25 hl/ha). Some reduction blocks the expressiveness of the nose yet the power and concentration of the flavours is immediately evident as they're supple, rich, densely but finely structured and immensely complex, possessing enormous depth and incredible length. The only nit is a touch of warmth but that often comes with the territory in this vintage. A wine to buy and I will be adding a case to my cellar. (91-94) 2013+
